Terms and Conditions
1. General Provisions
- These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations of Kovács-Buka Mirjam, sole proprietor, as the operator of the escape rooms known as Game of Rooms (hereinafter: the "Service Provider") (registered office: 4002 Debrecen, Poszáta utca 15.; registration number: 54877072; tax number: 56241750-1-29), and of persons using the service known as "Game of Rooms" presented on the Service Provider's website (hereinafter: the "Game") (hereinafter: the "User" or "Player/Players").
- The Service Provider is entitled to amend these Terms and Conditions unilaterally and must publish any amendment on its website without delay.
- The gameofrooms.hu website (hereinafter: the "Website") is owned by the Service Provider.
2. Description of the Service ("Game") and Conditions of Participation
- The Game may be played with a prior booking, which can be made online via the Website, by telephone, or in person at the Service Provider's premises.
- The venue of the Game is the Service Provider's premises at: 4024 Debrecen, Szent Anna utca 31.
- The Game is supervised by the Game Master (hereinafter: the "Game Master"), who may be the Service Provider or a person appointed by the Service Provider.
- The instructions of the Game Master and the instructions/rules displayed in the game area are binding on the Players before the Game starts and throughout the duration of the Game.
- One Game lasts a maximum of 60 minutes. If the Players wish to use the Service beyond this period, it shall be considered a new Game. Subject to the Service Provider's availability, the new Game may start immediately or at a later time treated as a new booking.
- Before the Game starts, the Service Provider must inform the Players of the rules and how the Game works.
- The Game may be played by teams of at least 2 and no more than 6 persons; in exceptional cases we may deviate from these limits.
- The Game may be used by adults with full legal capacity, or by minors in the presence of their legal representative or with a declaration signed by the legal representative.
- The Service Provider must indicate the recommended age limit in the description of the Game on the Website, depending on the nature of the Game. Players may participate regardless of the recommended age limit at their own risk, provided that their legal representative is present or a signed declaration is supplied.
- The Game takes place in enclosed rooms, often with poor visibility, lighting effects and sound effects. The Game may cause mental stress or psychological injury. Players are therefore expressly advised that if they suffer from claustrophobia, epilepsy, heart disease, panic disorder, other phobias, or any other condition not specified here for which the Game could cause physical or psychological injury, participation in the Game is not recommended.
- The Service Provider accepts no liability for possible personal injuries.
- Players are advised to wear comfortable clothing; clothing may become dirty during the Game.
- During the Game, Players may be required to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, lift and stretch.
- It is prohibited to bring sharp, cutting or other objects capable of causing injury into the game area.
- Each Player uses the Game at their own risk and of their own free will.
- The Game is available in Hungarian or English.
Players may begin the Game only after signing a declaration in which they accept these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice, consent to camera surveillance, declare that they use the service at their own risk, and acknowledge financial liability for damage to equipment. The declaration may only be signed by a person over 14 years of age. For persons under 14, the accompanying adult must sign it. The accompanying adult must also make a separate declaration accepting responsibility for the safety of the minors accompanying them, compliance with the House Rules, and any damage caused by the minors throughout the Game and their entire stay on the premises, and declaring that the parents/guardians have consented to the minors' participation.
3. Obligations of Players Participating in the Game
- Players must use the furnishings and equipment in the Game for their intended purpose. Climbing on furnishings or applying force to them is prohibited.
- Players must protect the condition of the equipment used in the Game and must avoid breaking, tearing or damaging it.
- Players must comply with all rules communicated or displayed by the Service Provider and cooperate with the Game Master at all times.
- If Players cause damage due to improper use of equipment or devices, or due to failure to comply with the rules, they must compensate for the damage.
- Persons under the influence of alcohol, medication, drugs or other mind-altering substances, persons behaving inappropriately, or persons who fail to comply with the rules or cooperate may be excluded from the Game.
- Players must notify the Game Master if they notice a hazardous situation or damaged equipment in the room, and must also report signs of illness in themselves or a team member.
- Audio and visual recordings, including video recordings, may be made at the Service Provider's premises only with the Service Provider's written permission.
- Players may not disclose details of the Game to the public or to third parties.
- A camera system operates throughout the entire Game area in order to ensure the game experience, protect property and ensure the safety of Players.
- The Service Provider accepts no liability for errors occurring during the Game or for malfunctions of the Website.
4. Booking
- By making a booking, the User simultaneously accepts these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Notice.
- Bookings may be made via the Website, by telephone or in person for available time slots displayed on the Website.
- When making a booking, the following information must be provided:
- The number of Players,
- The desired booking date and time,
- The name of the Game to be booked,
- The name of the Player making the booking,
- E-mail address,
- Telephone number,
- Billing address.
- When making a booking, the User must provide accurate and truthful information.
- When booking, the User must inform the Service Provider in the comments field of any promotions, discounts or vouchers they intend to use.
- The Service Provider may request proof of eligibility for promotions and discounts.
- A confirmation e-mail will be sent after a successful booking.
- Before the booked time, the Service Provider may contact the User using the contact details provided during booking.
- By making a booking, the User undertakes to pay the fee for the Game at the booked time and place by cash, bank card, advance bank transfer or online payment.
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests are accepted only if made at least 24 hours before the booked time. In the case of cancellation or modification within 24 hours, the Service Provider is not obliged to refund the amount paid.
- Players must arrive at the Game venue 10-15 minutes before the booked time.
- Players cannot be admitted more than 15 minutes early.
- In the event of late arrival, the Game may be shortened. If the delay exceeds 30 minutes, the Players may no longer participate in the Game.
- The Service Provider reserves the right to close. Booked appointments may be cancelled after prior notice or an alternative time may be offered.
5. Information on the Right of Withdrawal
- In the case of provision of services / appointment booking: Pursuant to Section 29(1)(l) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses, the User does not have a right of withdrawal in the case of a contract for services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance (a booking for a specific time).
- In the case of purchasing a gift voucher: For gift vouchers ordered online via the Website, the User (consumer) has the right under Section 20 of the Government Decree to withdraw without giving reasons within 14 days, provided that the voucher has not yet been used. The intention to withdraw must be communicated in writing to the Service Provider at [email protected]. If the withdrawal is accepted, the Service Provider will refund the amount paid no later than within 14 days.
6. Payment and Bank Card Payment via Barion
- The price of each Game depends on the number of participants.
- The prices of the Games are available on the Website.
- Payment methods:
- On site: by cash, bank card or a valid "Game of Rooms" voucher.
- Advance payment: by bank transfer to the bank account number shown on the Website (please include the booking name and number of participants in the payment reference).
- Bank card payment via Barion: Online bank card payments are processed through the Barion system.
- Barion payment information: Bank card details are not disclosed to the merchant. Barion Payment Zrt., which provides the service, is an institution supervised by the Central Bank of Hungary; licence number: H-EN-I-1064/2013.
- A maximum of one discount may be used for each Game.
- Due to the Service Provider's KATA taxation status, invoices may be issued only to private individuals.
7. Gift Vouchers
- Gift vouchers may be ordered via the Website by selecting the type of voucher, specifying the number of participating Players and adding the voucher to the shopping cart.
- During the order process, the User provides the information required for the purchase and fulfilment (purchaser's name, e-mail address, telephone number, billing address and, in the case of postal delivery, the delivery address).
- The voucher may be received electronically (by e-mail), by physical delivery (via parcel delivery service), or by personal pickup (at a pre-arranged time).
- The purchase price of the gift voucher may be paid by online bank card payment (Barion), by bank transfer (advance payment), or, in the case of personal pickup, in cash. For bank transfers, please include the purchaser's name in the payment reference.
- The gift voucher entitles its holder to one Game in the Service Provider's escape rooms, for the number of participants stated on the voucher, at the locations and during the validity period specified on the voucher.
- The voucher may be used within six months from the date of issue; the expiry date is shown on the voucher.
- When booking online or by telephone, the intention to pay with a voucher must be indicated by providing the voucher serial number.
- The voucher cannot be redeemed for cash and may only be used to pay for this Service.
- A printed voucher received by post/courier must be presented when redeemed. A voucher received online/by e-mail must be presented on an electronic device or in printed form before the Game begins.
- The voucher is freely transferable and entitles its bearer to use the service. The Service Provider does not verify ownership of the voucher upon redemption.
- The voucher is non-refundable (except when exercising the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal), cannot be exchanged, and no change or cash refund can be given from its value.
- The number of Players may be increased on site by paying the difference. In such cases, the amount must be topped up to the current price.
- The Service Provider accepts no liability for financial loss resulting from the loss of a voucher or its intentional appropriation by a third party. By placing a valid order or booking, the User automatically accepts the terms and conditions applicable to the voucher and the Game.
8. Coupons and Promotions
- The Service Provider may offer promotions from time to time.
- The stated conditions must be met in order to take advantage of promotions.
- The duration and conditions of a promotion will be published by the Service Provider no later than the start of the promotion on its Website or Facebook page (Game of Rooms Debrecen Szabadulószoba).
9. Newsletter
- The Service Provider offers the option to subscribe to a Newsletter. Following subscription, the User may receive information, opportunities, news and promotions related to the Games.
- Use of the Newsletter service and the related provision of data are voluntary in all cases.
- The Service Provider keeps records of the data provided by the User. Data recorded in these records may be disclosed to third parties only with the prior consent of the User concerned.
- By providing their data, the User authorises the Service Provider to process such data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (GDPR) until consent is withdrawn.
- The User may unsubscribe from the Newsletter service at any time, free of charge, without restriction and without giving reasons. In this case, the Service Provider will immediately delete the User's data from its records. The User may withdraw consent by clicking the unsubscribe link contained in the Newsletter.
10. Complaints Handling, Conciliation Board, Governing Law
- If the User has any questions, comments or complaints concerning the operation of the Game or the rights and obligations of Users, they may contact the Service Provider at the following contact details:

- The Service Provider will investigate written complaints submitted to it and provide a substantive response within the statutory period of 30 days.
- Competent Conciliation Board:
If a consumer dispute between the Service Provider and the User (consumer) cannot be settled through negotiations, the consumer may apply to the conciliation board competent according to the consumer's place of residence or habitual residence, or to the conciliation board competent according to the Service Provider's registered office.

Governing law and jurisdiction:
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by Hungarian law applicable at the Service Provider's registered office.
- The parties agree to attempt to settle any disputes arising between them amicably; if this is unsuccessful, the Hungarian courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve the dispute.
